Overview

FinanceDX is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service and never sell your personal information to third parties.

Information We Collect

When you use FinanceDX, we may collect the following:

  • Email address — collected when you create an account, enter your email on the assessment form, or join the waitlist
  • Account information — name and email provided through Clerk authentication when you sign up
  • Assessment data — financial inputs you enter (income, age, account types, contribution rates, debt level) used to generate your DX Score
  • Assessment results — your DX Score, findings, and action plan, stored to enable return visits and score history
  • Net worth entries — asset and liability values you enter in the Net Worth Tracker, stored with timestamps to show trends over time
  • Debt entries — debt names, balances, interest rates, and payment information you enter in the Debt Tracker
  • Action plan progress — which action plan items and Quick Wins you have marked as complete
  • Page view data — anonymous analytics data collected by Vercel Analytics, including pages visited and general traffic patterns. No personally identifiable information is included.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • Social Security numbers or government-issued ID
  • Bank account numbers, routing numbers, or financial account credentials
  • Access to your actual financial accounts — all data is entered manually by you
  • Credit card numbers or payment information (handled entirely by Stripe when payments launch)
  • Information from minors under 13

How We Use Your Information

  • To generate and display your personalized DX Score and financial findings
  • To save your results so you can return to your dashboard without re-entering data
  • To track your net worth and debt progress over time
  • To send you product updates, founding member offers, and notifications you have opted into
  • To improve the product based on how people use it
  • To respond to feedback you submit through the Share Feedback button

How Your Data Is Stored

Your account data is stored securely using the following services:

  • Clerk — handles authentication and stores your account credentials (email, name). Clerk is SOC 2 certified.
  • Supabase — stores your assessment results, net worth entries, debt entries, and action plan progress. Data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database with row-level security.
  • Vercel — hosts the FinanceDX application and collects anonymous page view analytics.

Third-Party Services

FinanceDX uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Anthropic Claude API — your assessment inputs are sent to Anthropic to generate your DX Score and findings. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
  • Clerk — authentication and user management at clerk.com
  • Supabase — database storage at supabase.com
  • Formspree — processes feedback form and waitlist email submissions at formspree.io
  • Vercel — application hosting and analytics at vercel.com

We do not sell your data to any of these services or any other third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Email Communications

If you provide your email address — whether through account creation, the assessment form, or the waitlist — we may send you product updates, founding member offers, and notifications related to your account. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time by contacting us through the feedback form. We do not send spam or sell your email address to third parties.

Cookies and Tracking

FinanceDX does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Clerk uses cookies to maintain your authenticated session. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous page view data without personally identifying you. We do not run ads on FinanceDX and do not use your data for advertising targeting.

Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To request deletion of your account and all associated data — including assessment results, net worth entries, debt entries, and action plan progress — contact us through the Share Feedback button on any page. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Free Tier and Guest Usage

If you use FinanceDX without creating an account, your assessment data is stored temporarily in your browser session storage and is not saved to our servers. Your email address may still be collected if you enter it on the assessment form or waitlist. Creating an account enables us to save your results so you can return to your dashboard.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as our product evolves. When we make significant changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of FinanceDX after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
